A restorative, repairing deep conditioning treatment is absolutely ESSENTIAL for healthy hair. Regular or "instant" conditioning is important and necessary to immediately restore the moisture and natural oils washed away during the process of cleansing the hair. It does not, however, provide the long term benefits of a deep conditioning treatment.

While there is no miracle cure to repair split ends or severely damaged hair, an effective deep conditioning treatment restores hairs vitality and strengthens it by penetrating the hairs cuticles, filling it with nutrients. For any deep conditioning treatment to be fully effective an external source of low and controlled heat is needed: The mild heat* causes the cuticles of each hair to "open up". The deep treatment is now able to enter the hair shaft and bring with it nutrients and moisture to the cortex (center) of the hair. This must-have deep conditioner is mildly scented with the essence of coconut and pineapple. It is also available fragrance free.

* The low heat needed for a proper deep conditioning treatment is not at all damaging to the hair. It should not be confused with the high temperatures that are used to blow dry, flat iron or hot curl the hair for styling.

Daily Spa Ritual After cleansing and rinsing, gently squeeze excess water out of hair. Place a few drops of conditioner in the palm of one hand. Using the finger tips of your other hand, apply deep conditioner to ends of your hair, continuing up towards your scalp. Carefully and gently detangle your hair with your finger tips, beginning at the ends. Distribute the deep conditioner throughout your hair with a wide tooth comb, starting at the ends, working your way up to the roots until you're able to comb through the entire length of your hair, from root to tip. Cover hair with plastic conditioning cap and your preheated Phat Head Hair Therapy Cordless Conditioning Cap for at least 20 minutes. Remove both caps and allow hair to cool down for 5 minutes before rinsing. Use the pressure of the water, not your hands, to remove the deep conditioner. Gently squeeze out excess water and pat hair dry without "scrubbing". Use every two weeks to maintain healthy, nourished hair. Use every week if you chemically straighten, perm or use heated tools to style or dry your hair.
