Burnout Kids Physical Sunscreen SPF 30 is a unique and wonderful solution for babies and children's delicate skin.
According to an interesting article from the Detroit Free Press, it is important to use sunscreen from babyhood to offset the risk of melanoma because as few as six severe sunburns can raise a person's lifetime risk. With this in mind, there are 7 things you can do to protect your kids:
- Babies 6 months or younger should be kept out of direct sunlight. They should be physically protected against the sun with clothing and hats.
- Limit their sun exposure when the sun is most intense.
- Avoid all sun tanning and tanning beds. (I suppose this applies to teenagers.)
- Use sunscreen with a skin protection factor of at least 30. (Burnout Kids Physical Sunscreen has an SPF of 30!) Make sure your reapply the sunscreen every two to three hours that they are outdoors.
- Whenever possible, keep to the shade but keep in mind that this will not prevent total exposure.
- Sometimes children’s sunglasses are just cheap plastic toys. You have to protect their eyes with sunglasses that are designed to block out ultraviolet rays.
- Have them wear wide-brimmed to protect the skin around the eyes. (I'm not sure if I could have gotten my son to wear a wide brimmed hat or to only play in the shade, but the advice isn't bad.)
