Anti aging serums, lotions and creams are more readily absorbed when the pores are free of debris, impurities and dead skin cells. Using a fruit enzyme toner before applying a mineral mud or clay masque will better help the masque bind with the impurities and toxins deep within the surface of pores. As the masque dries, it will draw the debris up to the surface of the skin. The clean pores can now better absorb all skin treatments that follow. Organic aloe vera based fruit enzyme masques are ideally suited for those with delicate, mature skin because they exfoliate and unclog pores as they deliver nutrients and moisture to the skins surface.
Papain is an exfoliating, antibacterial and antioxidant enzyme that dissolves dead and damaged skin cells. This enzyme can only be found in the papaya fruit. Bromelain, present in high levels in the pineapples, is another protein dissolving enzyme. Even though pineapple contains low levels of alpha hydroxy acids (malic, citric, glycolic and tartaric) it is generally well tolerated by all skin types. 
Remember, alpha hydroxy acids can increase your skin's sensitivity to UV rays, so be sure to use an organic, physical sunscreen made zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide. Your sunscreen should have an SPF of at least 30. It should not contain any fragrance, chemical UV absorbers, PABA, parabens or petroleum as these additives are potential skin irritants.
