Start off with clean nails using rubbing alcohol with vitamin E that you apply with a lint free pad.
Make sure you apply Gelish products very thinly.

Removing Gelish Nails

These wraps work like a band aid. All you have to do is saturate the cotton pad with acetone, fold it around your finger and wait 10 minutes. The gel will slide right off. Any remaining color can be pushed off the nail with am orangewood stick. The wraps are available from amazon.com in two sizes:
