Howdy Everyone! Cas and I will be away for a long weekend, but fear not: I am going to post Days 6 & 7 right now, so just follow along and play nice, OK
Today, there is no “real” workout, but I do want you to do SOMETHING: The “Daily Show” workout, a series of exercises from Squeeze it in” or some other “brief but intense” workout. The idea of this near daily exercise is to get your metabolism going in order to keep your body burning fat 24/7.
- Drink lots and lots of water & green tea.
- Try VERY hard to make fresh fruit the first thing you have in the morning
- Don’t drink anything with your meal: wait until you’re finished eating
- Try to keep animal dairy down to a bare minimum (it build up mucus in the body)
- Get as much sleep as you can
- Have FUN!
Update on our NEW Forum: Cas is nearly finished making our forum!!! It’s awesomely awesome and I do believe you are going to LOVE it! Sadly, Allure has become a big ol’ SPAM repository. I was going in and checking every few days, but I haven’t been there all week. It’s just too sad. Oh, well. The ONE great thing about Allure is it brought many of us together! I would have NEVER met my one and only pen pal, Sunshine, had it not been for Allure. She is truly a wonderful human being and a great friend. She’s helped me through a few rough patches with her wise-beyond-her-years words of wisdom.
Speaking of Sunshine (Adrienne), her family is going through a very, very rough patch. Her brother fell and hurt his head, causing bleeding in his brain. He’s been in the hospital for a few days already. I ask that you all please send your good vibes, positive energy, well wishes, thoughts and prayers her way. Thank you.

I totally missed this one during my catching up this AM. Thank you everyone for the thougths and prayers for my brother. They took him into surgery 5 hours early on Friday once his heart rate dropped to 20 beats per min. It was a last chance effort with very little hope. When the began the operation though, they saw that his skull had actually fractured, which had allowed it to swell more than normal with less injury, and that the bleeding was on the outer part, not the inner. The surgery was very successful and by 10pm that night, he was awake and able to talk! He is still in a bit of danger, but expected to recover quickly! Again, thank you everyone!!!!

Jameka: Humans are the only mammals who drink milk from OTHER mammals. We are also the only mammals who drink milk after infancy: Mammals produce milk to nourish their young… once their offspring is capable of eating, the milk is no longer required. Mucus is white blood cells: They are the body’s version of the national guard… for lack of a better description. White blood cells are called to arms to fend off invading substances. Dairy is seen by many human bodies as a foreign or “invading” substance… what we now know as “lactose intolerance”.
The dairy industry would have you think milk is the ONLY way to get calcium. BAH! NOT TRUE!!! There are SO many sources of absorbable calcium in plants: Ounce for ounce, broccolli, for example, as WAY more calcium than cows milk. I’ll post non dairy sources of calcium this week.
The reason I encourage you not to drink with your meal is just as K-Stevia said: Saliva is the 1st stage of digestion. When you drink with your meal, you slow down and/or confuse your saliva producing glands. This sends mixed signals to the brain… you end up with a false sense of fullness… only to find yourself feeling hungry shortly after you’ve just eaten.
Jameka, I think that drinking during meals makes one bloated and feel full faster.
I usually only have hot tea with meals and wait to have fruit juices or chilled drinks inbetween meals so as not to delay digestion and cause constipation.
As for dairy, I don’t believe that anything in high amounts is all that beneficial. Dairy is high in unhealthy fat.
My friends’ mom is out of the ICU. She didn’t want to eat when I was there, so I guess even natural remedies have their limits. Moving out of the ICU to a regular private room is a good sign, though.

I went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch after the hospital caf’ closed + I was eating almonds for a snack. I had the deluxe sandwich with mayo, Polynesian sauce, Chick-Fil-A sauce, some of my friend’s fries because they think I need to eat more than just a sandwich LOL, and a cup of water.
When I got home, I had a gluten-free tamale verde with cheese by Amy’s, made with organic corn masa, tomatillos and rice. mmmm…. I finished that off with organic peppermint tea and a peppermint leaf from my plant.
Later, I had two slices of tapioca loaf with organic peanut butter and peach preserves. Then I ate some vanilla coconut milk yogurt. I also had some almond milk with maca root powder. I ate a little handful of marshmallows and a dark chocolate bar with chilies mixed inside of it. I believe in eating until I go to bed LOL.

I’ve been drinking water like a FISH! I’m getting tired of having to use the bathroom so much, but I’m noticing the difference in my skin already but just drinking so much water lol
Positives thoughts for all those hospitalized or going through rough times.
I’ve been good food-wise, but not so good exercise-wise. I had tea for um, breakfast (I didn’t have time to eat!) and had a spinach/pasta layered salad for lunch with some veg drumsticks. They look like hot wings and are amazing! I’m going to buy more this weekend as I’m almost out. My office is perpetually freezing, so I drink tea all the time. Didn’t do much exercising today except for biking to work, so I’ll try to do some jumping jacks/running in place while I watch TV to get my heart pumping

I’ve been a very very bad girl today. cereal for bfast anda huge chipotle burrito for lunch. though i have been drinking green tea all day long.
i’m SOOOOOO stressed out about not having my period. I CAN’T be preggy!!! I’ve taked my pill EVERY DAY so is this even possible? I’m giving it one more day and then i’m getting a test done. I feel all crampy and bloated though. BLEH!!! I’m so nervous!!! I ideally wanted to wait 4 years from now to have a kid.

my friends’ mom is in the hospital after their dad died on Easter. she is suffering from pneumonia. PLEASE PRAY! I’m going over there with natural remedies, too. guess I’ll get my running in through my race over there. Her name is Mrs. Wynne.

TMI maybe? My dentist said that my saliva glands are pretty active, so I will keep that in mind when heeding your call not to drink other things with meals hahaha!

I will drink some green tea and eat dried apricots this morning for breaking my nightly fast
+ a 50 billion cultured probiotic by Advanced Naturals.
Then, I’ll go on a skipping spree while walking and jogging in random intervals haha!
